AFC Leopards dominate in friendly against Kariobangi Sharks during FIFA break, showcasing newfound strength and attacking prowess under coach Tomas Trucha.

Twelve-time Kenyan champions AFC Leopards made a roaring start to their FIFA break friendlies with a commanding 4-1 victory over Kariobangi Sharks in a thrilling encounter at the Kasarani Annex on Wednesday.

This exhibition match against their Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) counterparts was strategically chosen by Coach Tomas Trucha to boost the team's momentum as they navigate through the two-week FIFA break.

Ingwe had been struggling to find their scoring touch this season, often settling for draws and narrow victories.

However, this encounter marked a significant turning point as they scored more than two goals for the first time, following their recent 1-1 draw against Posta Rangers.

In contrast to their previous league meeting, which ended in a goalless draw, this friendly displayed a new level of attacking prowess from the Leopards.

The match, structured in four quarters of 30 minutes each, provided ample playing time for most of the squad members, allowing them to build valuable experience.

The thrilling action unfolded right from the first quarter, with both teams eager to assert their dominance.

Donald Ange capitalized on a defensive error to put Kariobangi Sharks ahead in the 28th minute.

However, the Leopards quickly responded as Ronnie Sichenje unleashed a spectacular long-range strike, finding the back of the net to level the score.

In the second quarter, it was the Leopards who took the lead when defender Lauren James seized an opportunity to make it 2-1.

Clifton Miheso emerged as the star of the show in the closing moments, netting twice in the 24th and 30th minutes of the last quarter to seal the emphatic victory for Ingwe.

Leopards' busy schedule during the FIFA break continues with another friendly match scheduled against Cigna FC on Friday at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.

On Saturday, they will face KCB FC in Karen, providing them with valuable opportunities to fine-tune their strategies and test their mettle against diverse opposition.

Looking ahead in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League, AFC Leopards will face bottom-placed Sofapaka in their next league fixture.
