AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda has singled out one area that is letting them down which he blames for their inability to win Sunday’s Mashemeji derby.
AFC Leopards chairman Dan Shikanda is rueing the lack of a clinical finisher at the club which he blames for their lack of goals in recent matches.
Leopards played out a goalless draw with Gor Mahia in the 96th Mashemeji Derby on Sunday, continuing their poor form in front of goal, as it was their fourth game in the last five that has ended 0-0.
Further, their last four games have ended in draws, with only their 1-1 stalemate with Shabana, when they found the back of the net in the last one month.
Shikanda feels his team is dropping easy points which has cost them a place among the title contenders.

'Everyone should be very much afraid'- Benni McCarthy begins building a fearsome Harambee Stars squad
Benni McCarthy is determined to transform Harambee Stars into a dominant force in African football ahead of the upcoming CHAN tournament.
“We need a JJ Masiga. If we had a top striker like JJ Masiga, we could be burying those chances and winning those matches 3-0, 4-0,” Shikanda further said.
“There are people who have that assignment [finding a striker] on their desk to get the right guys in,” he added, seemingly excluding himself from blame over the lack of a clinical striker at the club.
Leopards failed to strengthen their strike force in the midseason transfer window due to financial constraints and are now paying the price as the lack of goals leaves them in fifth place with 37 points, 11 behind league leaders Kenya Police with 10 matches remaining.
