The trials are aimed at identifying young talents aged between 18 and 20, offering them the opportunity to join the Ingwe Youth set up.

FKF Premier League giants AFC Leopards have opened their doors for aspiring young footballers to attend trials set to take place at the Lower Jericho Ground from Monday 18 to Saturday 23 September.

The trials are aimed at identifying young talents aged between 18 and 20, offering them the opportunity to join the Ingwe Youth setup.

These trials are scheduled to commence promptly at 12 PM. As a requirement, all participating players should bring their identification cards or passports.

The Leopards youth team serves as a crucial pathway for young talents aspiring to reach the senior ranks in the FKF Premier League, with a couple of players such as Kayci Odhiambo getting his chance to get into the first team after being part of the junior side.

Other players such as Brian Wanyama, Maxwell Otieno, Said Mohendi, Zachary Nite, and Giovanni Lukhumwa who currently command places in the senior team were once among the Youth team also known as the Cubs.

Leopards are opting to start placing a keen emphasis on youth development, with the side invited to take part in exhibition matches.

In January, its Under 19 side was crowned Bottom-up champions following a  2-1 win against Isambo Combined in a match played at Lunyofu Ground in Budalangi in front of Sports CS Ababu Namwamba to mark the climax of the Isambo cultural festivals.

Six youths from Isambo Combined were plucked by scouts from the side during the tournament.

The trials will enable the club to add more players to their ranks with a view of the side supplementing the Youth set up.
