Adjumani has been relegated from the FUFA Big League in their debut season but has enjoyed a good run in the Stanbic Uganda Cup, reaching the semifinal.
Adjumani Town Council might make history to become the first club from the Regional League to represent the country at the CAF Confederations Cup in case they beat all odds to go on and win this season’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.
The West Nile side have been relegated from the FUFA Big League in their debut season but have enjoyed a good run in the cup, reaching the semifinal.
They face Police FC in the first of a two-legged semifinal on Monday before hosting the return leg next week in Adjumani.
“We have come a long way and feel we can still push it and make our fans proud,” Geoffrey Akena, the head coach of Adjumani TC told Pulse Sports.
“We’ve learnt a lot in the league and hope to go back and build on that experience but as for the cup, we’re still in contention and want to push up to the end,” he added.
The match will, be played at Kavumba Recreation Centre from 4 pm.
Vipers will face Soltilo Bright Stars in the other semifinal fixture with the first leg slated for Saturday 20th May.
