A third historical derby in three East African countries for Taddeo Lwanga

This will make it his third historical derby appearance, having played in games of the same stature in Tanzania and Uganda.

Uganda Cranes midfielder Taddeo Lwanga is made for football's massive stages and has never shied from excellence in the biggest matches.

The former Vipers SC skipper is set to feature in his third of the biggest rivalries in as many countries in East Africa this Saturday.

Lwanga will feature in Rwanda Premier League's biggest game as his side APR FC battles Rayon Sports FC at the Kigali Pele Stadium.

This will make it his third historical derby appearance, having played in games of the same stature in Tanzania and Uganda.

Lwanga, who has previously played for Express FC and SC Villa, was involved in games involving the two.

The two clubs form arguably the fiercest and greatest rivalry in Uganda's football history.

Meanwhile, as a Simba SC player in Tanzania, Lwanga played against their eternal nemesis Young Africans SC and scored in one of the encounters.

At APR, Lwanga has established himself as a stronghold at the club and captained them to a 1-0 victory over Etoile de L'Est on Monday.

APR hasn't lost a league game since April 2023, but their maiden domestic defeat was against Rayon Sports (3-0) in the Super Cup.

After 23 games this season, APR lead proceedings with 55 points, 10 ahead of runners-up and foes Rayon Sports.
