Tottenham are set to exchange their prized asset Harry Kane for over €100 million. We review three things the Spurs hierachy should consider when reinvesting the money.
According to multiple sources, Tottenham have accepted Bayern Munich's offer in excess of €100 million for striker Harry Kane.
The England captain is no doubt the Lilywhites' most important player, and with the Premier League season starting today, the necessity to fill his boots is even more accelerated.

With Harry Kane set to join Bayern Munich in a sensational £95 million deal, here are 5 incredible records that the England international set in his time with Tottenham in the Premier League
This is not Tottenham's first instance in a situation like this, however, as they also suffered the loss of Gareth Bale to Real Madrid in the summer of 2013, receiving what was a global transfer record fee at the time (€100.8 million).
Spurs went on a spending spree following the windfall, signing the likes of Roberto Soldado, Etienne Capoue, Erik Lamela, Christian Eriksen, Vlad Chiriches, Paulinho, and Nacer Chadli.
Of the seven, only Eriksen can be said to have been a success. We suggest three things Tottenham should note to avoid the mishap that was the summer of 2013.
There is no Kane replacement on the market
As the likes of Manchester United have found out this summer, there is no abundance of top-level talent in the striker position, especially those of the calibre of Harry Kane.
The Tottenham leadership have to understand this and resist the urge to splash out on a single forward entity as Kane's replacement.
They have to understand that they finished eighth last season, meaning even with Harry Kane, they are not at the level a club of their stature should be.
Hence, the focus should be on developing the problem areas of the pitch first before seeking out a new talisman on the summer market.

Spend on top-level centre-back
Although Tottenham struggled in general last season, they outscored both Manchester United and Newcastle, two teams that finished in the top four.
Their potency in front of goal was largely due to Harry Kane, and his departure could see the number drop; however, finishing in the bottom six of the goal conceded metric shows their problems at the back are more pressing.
With the return of Destiny Udogie and a more acclimated Pedro Porro, they look to have the fullback/wingback positions covered.
However, at centre-back, Christian Romero has been the only one who has shown to be of the right level to play for the club. A partner who is a significant upgrade over the likes of Dier should be a priority for Tottenham.
Trust Richarlison, but sign a cover
Despite the argument made so far, Tottenham have lost a body up front, and it is only wise they replace what is lost, if only for quantitative reasons.
The Lilywhites already have Brazil's number 9 in waiting, ready for a bigger role at the club. With a proper playmaker like James Maddison already signed and Son's continued loyalty, there is enough firepower to offset Kane's loss to some extent.
An additional centre-forward signing to understudy or rival Richarlison can only serve as a boon if superior quality cannot be found.
