Chelsea have made it two wins in a row with a bit of flair especially in the second game. This is why they are contenders for top 4

West Ham hosted Chelsea at the London stadium on Saturday marking the second London Derby of the season.

Chelsea continued their unanswered dominance over the Hammers with a 3-0 win after defeating them 5-0 at Stamford Bridge last season.

Chelsea were able to pick up a second away win and along with it two clean sheets. Robert Sanchez was the hero in their game against Bournemouth after saving a penalty. He was also heroic in their 3-0 win over West Ham with spectacular saves to keep the like of Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus from scoring.

From this victory there were several things about Chelsea that emerged that proved that they are contenders for automatic champions league qualification.

1. Dangerous counter attacking play.

Despite losing to Manchester City on opening day, Chelsea have shown that they are dangerous on the counter attack.

Their rapid forward pays with heavy score lines like the 6-2 against Wolves. Quick single touch plays allow them to get away from tight spaces without losing possession and break away at the opposition's goal.

The same style of play helped them cruise passed West Ham away from home to take their point total to 10.

2. Squad depth

After going three goals ahead of their rivals via Nicolas Jackson's brace and Cole Palmer, Enzo Maresca brought in Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku. These two provided fresh legs in the attacking areas of the pitch and created chances in the short time they had on the pitch.

Jadon Sancho started for the first time for since joining Chelsea and provided the assist for the first goal. He was subbed of for Pedro Neto who also was a pain to West Ham's defence.

In midfield Chelsea still had Renato Viega and Dewsbury-Hall who played an important role in Leicester's journey back to the Premier League.

3. Cole Palmer's consistency

The Blue's cold golden boy Cole Palmer has the most assists right now in the Premier League continuing his dominance from last season. On top of that he has two goals this season. He is a dangerous left footed player, someone Chelsea have been longing to have since the Pedro days.
