Kenya's Under-23 team will compete in the COSAFA Cup in South Africa, with matches scheduled in Durban from June 26 to July 7.

Kenya will send an Under-23 team to the upcoming COSAFA Championship, set to take place in Durban, South Africa, from June 26 to July 7.

This marks Kenya's second appearance at the tournament following their debut in 2013.

Harambee Stars' preparation for the event appears robust especially after their recent success at the Four Nations tournament in March where they clinched the trophy with a 3-1 victory over Zimbabwe.

The Kenyan team, coached by Harambee Stars assistant Ken Odhiambo with assistance from William Muluya, was invited to the tournament following Malawi’s unexpected withdrawal.

Positioned as the fifth highest-ranked side in the competition Kenya looks to improve on their initial outing, where they were eliminated in the pool stages.

Kenya U-23 COSAFA Cup fixtures, venues and kickoff times

Kenya’s journey in the 2024 COSAFA Cup will commence at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, where they are scheduled to face Zambia at 7pm on June 27th.

Zambia, a record seven-time winner of the COSAFA Cup, presents a challenging start for the Kenyan side as they aim to make a strong tournament impression.

The Group B opening match is particularly notable as Zambia strives to become the first team to win three consecutive COSAFA titles.

Following their opener, Kenya will move to Wolfson Stadium to meet Comoros on June 30 with the kickoff for this encounter set for 1 PM.

The team's final group match will also take place at Wolfson Stadium, facing Zimbabwe on July 2, again at 1 PM East African Time.

These matches provide Kenya a continuous competitive edge with minimal travel between venues allowing the team to maintain focus on their tactical and physical performance.

The COSAFA Cup serves as a critical platform for Kenya’s young talents, especially after their promising start in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign.

The team has already shown potential with a win and two draws from their first four qualifiers, setting a positive precedent for their performance in Durban.

Durban's Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, alongside Wolfson Stadium, will play pivotal roles throughout the tournament, hosting matches up to the semifinals on July 5.

The tournament's conclusion, featuring the bronze-medal match and the final, will occur on July 7, also at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
