It's teatime for giant striker Toluwase Arokodare who is brewing up Super Eagles dream after a surprise but expected national call for the crucial WCQ against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Toluwase Arokodare, the 24-year-old striker nicknamed “Tea” for his sizzling form, has opened up about his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles. 

Speaking in a video shared from the team’s Kigali camp on Instagram, the Genk giant expressed his shock and pride at joining Nigeria’s football elite.

“I was surprised, very honoured to be among the 39 players,” Arokodare said. “I knew it was coming because I’ve been doing pretty well, and I hoped it would happen—and it did.” 

With 19 goals and 5 assists this season for Genk, the towering forward earned his spot in new coach Eric Chelle’s squad.

“Even if I didn’t make the final 23, I felt like a winner already,” he added. “But being in the final 23? I feel blessed and grateful.”

For Arokodare, representing Nigeria is a childhood dream realised. “It’s one of the best things that can happen to a footballer—getting the chance to play for your country,” he said.

“As a kid, you watch the national legends and always want to be there. Now, being in that position means a lot to me.”

Tea has been pouring in goals in Belgium, and his call-up for the World Cup Qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe marks a breakthrough moment. 

Toluwase Arokodare, the new towering striker also arrived early.

Whether he’s stirring defences or serving up assists, Arokodare is ready to bring his hot streak to the Super Eagles’ table.

After making the cut, it is left to be seen if the Genk star will impress Chelle in training ahead of the double-headers against the Amvubi and Zimbabwe.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles currently sit fifth in Group C with no wins from their first four matches and Chelle will hope to kickstart his era with three points in Kigali.
