Kenya Police head coach Francis Baraza has revealed the reason he has been making plenty of changes to the side since taking over the club at the beginning of the season.
Police sacked their previous tactician Sammy Omollo “Pamzo”, before hiring the former Chemelil Sugar boss a few weeks into the season. Since then, they have lost just 4 times in 23 league fixtures and soared up the table to 5th place with 9 league matches left to play.
The club have made a commitment to strengthen, signing proven internationals to try and make the side more competitive, which has left Baraza with a bloated squad.
Asked about whether he was finding it difficult to settle on a preferred eleven players, Baraza described the situation as “hard”.

An Austin Odhiambo goal downed Police on Saturday afternoon.
“It has been very hard and difficult,” he said, “ the league is competitive like never before. There is a big issue to do with fixture congestion,” he added.
“We play games every 3 to four days. This means you have to have a solid team. Unfortunately, given the congested nature of the fixtures, fatigue plays a massive part in my reason to rotate.

The Northern-Irish tactician revealed that his players played well and got a deserved three points after withstanding slippery conditions that essentially prevented the game from finding any sort of rhythm.

The custodian made no changes to the side that beat Vihiga Bullets 4-0 last Wednesday, and the tactician explains that it was to establish some continuity.
“ I decided to give them a chance to play two games in a row because they were not that tired considering they traveled to Kakamega via plane. They played well otherwise.”
Baraza has had to change his set up to accommodate and give his players chances. He has had to shift formations at times, playing a 3-5-2 formation or in other games, a 4-3-3 formation using different players altogether.
