Nine-time champions Gor Mahia were eliminated from the FKF Cup on Sunday following a 1-0 loss to Kakamega Homeboyz.
The league leaders were undone by a 57th minute own goal headed in by defender Emery Bayisenge in a match played at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.
It was Gor Mahia who looked the livelier side and carved out the first opportunity in the eighth minute but Patrick Kaddu sliced his effort wide of goal.
Ernest Wendo delivered a quality free kick in the 15th minute but defender John Macharia’s near-post flick sailed over the bar.
In the 30th minute the game saw its first shot on target as Moses Mudavadi smashed the ball from outside the area, but Gad Mathew did well to save.

Gor Mahia put some pressure on Homeboyz as they threatened again with Shafiq Kagimu warming Farouk Shikalo's hands three minutes after the first attempt on target.
The hosts had some momentum behind them and came close again as Ambrose Sifuna played Enock Agwanda through, but his shot was wide of the near post.
Sylvester Owino had a shot on target for Gor Mahia but it was tame and saved easily. Kaddu then saw arguably the best chance of the half when he shot from the angle, but Shikalo was up to the task.
After the restart, Kakamega started on an enterprising note with the intent to bounce back when Mudavadi forced the goalkeeper to a brilliant save.
The early bright form was soon rewarded when Gor Mahia defender Emery Bayisenge made a fatal error and headed in Moses Mudavadi’s cross into his own net.
Gor Mahia nearly drew level in the 78th minute when Benson Omala let fry from long distance, but his thunderous effort was saved by the Homeboyz goalkeeper.
In the 83rd minute, Okanga Felicien thought he had extended the Homeboyz lead when he shot inside the box, beat the keeper but his effort was cleared by a Gor Mahia defender.
Although, Gor Mahia threw everything in search of a goal, it was not to be as Kakamega Homeboyz held on for victory and qualified to the quarterfinals of the competition.

Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 Equity FC
At Nyayo National Stadium, 2018 FKF Cup champions Kariobangi Sharks advanced to the quarterfinals after seeing off Division One outfit Equity FC.
Sharks got off to a perfect start when Paul Okoth opened the scoring from a point blank header in the eighth minute of the match to make it 1-0.
Equity were finding it tough to break down the Sharks defense in the first half as the likes of Bonaventure Atse was unable to get any joy in the final third.
The Bankers were forced to make an early change bringing in Kelvin Oluoch for David Onyango in order to strengthen their defense that looked weaker.
Sharks attacker Sharrif Maina in particular, was a danger down the right-hand side and fed several dangerous balls into the box which were wasted as there was no one to capitalize on his creativity.
At the other end, Joshua Oyoo was a constant danger and he had another chance on goal but this time his header flew wide of Kevin Ouru’s goal.
