The football administrator died on Friday with various clubs joining Shabana FC in mourning
Kenya football fraternity has been mourning following the sudden death of long-serving football administrator Nyandoro Kambi.
Kambi, the Chairman of National Super League side Shabana FC, passed away on Friday after collapsing in his office.
In a statement, his club Shabana FC said they have lost a leader who had committed himself to serve the club in his capacity, coupled with the different roles that he was involved in.
"We regret to confirm the passing on of our club chairman, Hon. Dr. Nyandoro Kambi LLB, who until the time of his demise served as the Chairman of our beloved club, Shabana FC.," the statement reads.
"He was a dedicated fan and had always committed himself to ensure that the club gains it's promotion to the Kenyan Premier League. You will forever remain in our hearts, Daktari."
Football Kenya Federation Premier League side KCB joined hands with the Kisii-based NSL side in mourning the football administrator.
"Our heartfelt condolences to Shabana FC, their entire fan base, and the Kenya football fraternity at large for the passing on of the club Chairman Dr. Nyandoro Kambi.
"May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace," KCB FC tweeted on Friday.
Another top-flight side AFC Leopards also paid tribute to Kambi.

Sofapaka FC eulogized him on Friday evening, saying; "We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Shabana FC chairman Dr. Nyandoro Kambi that occurred this evening. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and larger football fraternity for the huge loss. Sleep well, Chairman.
Kambi was elected as the club chairman unopposed in September 2021 after having previously served as a vice chairman.
He was also an advocate of the High Court and once vied for the Borabu Constituency MP seat.
Shabana is currently on top of the NSL log with 25 points, five points clear of Kibera Back Stars at second position.
