The Uganda Cricket Association is going all out as they prepare to receive the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup trophy.

According to Denis Musali, the Uganda Cricket Association media manager, the trophy, which arrives on Saturday, will be flown around in a helicopter for all the fans to get a good experience.

The ICC has chosen Uganda as one of only three African countries where the ICC World Cup trophy will visit during its global trophy tour.
The trophy is also expected to visit Jinja, one of Uganda’s leading tourism districts, and Musali adds that the aim is to promote sports tourism and inspire the youngsters at the school cricket week.
“Jinja is one of the best tourist sites in Uganda. We thought promoting sports tourism would be a great idea, but we also hope to inspire the youngsters as the schools cricket week will get underway at Jinja SS this Sunday,” Musali noted.
The trophy will conclude its tour to Uganda on 29th August 2023.
