CRICKET Uganda Cricket Association recognized at the ICC Development Awards
The local cricket governing body scooped the ICC Digital Fan Engagement of the Year award at the International Cricket Council Development Awards.
The World Cup trophy for the 50 overs is set to visit Uganda between the 25th and 27th of August; Nigeria and South Africa are the other African countries set to host the trophy, which will visit 18 countries and 40 cities.
“We want to leverage this opportunity to continue our primary role of spreading the game throughout the country,” Uganda Cricket Association CEO Allan Mugume said.

Uganda, playing at their third Castle Lite Series, lost four T02I games against the hosts amidst player injuries (Juma Miyaji), travel issues (Riazat Shar) and a family bereavement (Henry Ssenyondo and Simon Ssesazi).

Several activities have been lined up during the trophy tour, including the official opening of the school’s cricket week, which Jinja Senior Secondary School will host.
