According to JJ Reddick, he is not focused on experience as he leads the Los Angeles Lakers.

JJ Redick has been named head coach by the Los Angeles Lakers.

Redick takes over as the team's 29th and 25th head coach in the Los Angeles era.

Rob Pelinka, general manager and vice president of basketball operations for the Lakers, expressed his excitement at appointing JJ Redick as the team's next head coach.

Redick made it apparent that he, his staff, and the undetermined roster will work together to determine how this squad will play.

He insisted on making player development a top focus for the team.

The forty-year-old Redick played in the NBA for fifteen years, from 2006 to 2021, for the Dallas, New Orleans, Philadelphia, LA Clippers, Milwaukee, and Orlando teams.

The former guard was a member of 14 teams that made it to the NBA Playoffs over his 15 seasons.

With an average of 12.8 points in 940 regular season games, the well-known shooter performed admirably in his position.

Throughout his career, Redick shot 41.5 percent from outside the arc, and his 1,950 made triples rank 20th all-time in NBA history.

Redick joined ESPN as an analyst shortly after declaring his retirement on September 21, 2021, and he was just elevated to the network's lead broadcast crew.

Redick was chosen by the Magic with the 11th overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. He attended Duke University for four years as a student from 2002 to 2006.

Redick was the 2006 Naismith Men's College Player of the Year and a two-time consensus first-team All-American while a member of the Blue Devils.
