For the first time, Team LeBron suffers a loss at the NBA All-Star game as Tatum sets a new scoring record.

Team Giannis defeated Team LeBron 184-175 to win the 2023 NBA All-Star game in the early hours of Monday, February 20, 2023.

The NBA All-Star teams were selected from the starters and reserves by captains Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James.

The teams were selected an hour before the game as the players were all present to find out where they would end up.

Team Giannis defeats Team LeBron 

The NBA All-Star was fast-paced as expected with monster dunks to start the first quarter.

Both teams could not be separated after the first 12 minutes with the score tied at 46-46 to share $50,000 each for their designated charity.

Led by Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, Team Giannis took the second quarter 53-46 to establish a seven-point lead at the halftime break.

Following two quarters of action, there was a halftime performance by Nigerian afrobeat stars Burna Boy, Rema, and Tems.

Team Giannis continued to dominate and led by Boston Celtics forward Jayson Ttaum took the third quarter 59-49.

With a 17-point deficit, Team LeBron began to make shots late in the game as they pressed to try win the game.

They won the quarter 34-26 but Team Giannis took the game by nine points thanks to a clutch three by Portland TrailBlazers star Damian Lillard.

Following the victory, with a quarter-win and a draw Team LeBron were able to raise $200,000 for charity.

Team Giannis with two-quarter wins and a draw were able to raise $550,000 also for charity.

Jayson Tatum received the Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP award for a record-breaking performance.

Jayson Tatum sets new All-Star record

Celtics forward Jayson Tatum was the Most Valuable Player of the 2023 NBA All-Star game in Salt Lake, Utah.

Before the game, the 24-year-old launched the Jordan Tatum 1 signature shoe.

He would debut his new signature shoe at the NBA All-Star game and put up a monster performance.

Tatum would set a new scoring record for the All-Star game with 55 points surpassing the 52 points by Steph Curry and Anthony Davis.

Tatum also contributed 10 rebounds and six assists. He made 22 of his 31 shots including 10 of 18 from three-point range.

At the end of the game, he received the Kobe Bryant All-Star MVP award for a record-breaking performance.
