The atmosphere was electric as both teams clashed in a closely contested battle, delighting the packed crowd with their skill and tenacity.
Leading the charge for the Blazers was the exceptional Micheal Makiadi, who delivered a stellar performance, contributing 16 points and 11 rebounds over 32 minutes of intense action.
Joining him in the spotlight was Peter Cheng, who showcased his versatility by notching 11 points and securing seven rebounds, providing crucial support in securing the victory for his team.
Expressing his satisfaction with his team's performance and the triumph that marked the end of the first round, Blazers head coach Stephen Nyeko commended his players.
"I am delighted with our victory, as it was our primary goal to close the first round on a high note, and we accomplished just that,” Nyeko said after the game.
Despite the defeat, Our Savior head coach Moses Okwera was proud of his team's performance throughout the first round.
"We have achieved the realistic target we set at the beginning of the season with six wins during this first round.”
“We aim to build on this momentum in the second round and secure a spot in the top six, which would be a remarkable achievement for our squad," Okwera shared with the media.
In a valiant effort for Our Savior, Kenneth Mesho delivered 10 points and eight rebounds. Although the night ended in defeat, Mesho and his teammates can find solace in their strong showing during the first round.
With the curtains closing on the first round, the Namuwongo Blazers clinched the third position on the league table, while Our Savior secured the fifth spot.
