After 22 years at the top of his game, LeBron James is experiencing his worst season in the NBA and retirement could help save his glittering cv.
LeBron James' steep offensive decline has drawn sharp criticism from ESPN's Kendrick Perkins who is unconvinced whether LeBron, at 40, still has enough fire under his belly to carry on playing.

'I'm going to lead by example'-LeBron James hints ahead of playing alongside son in this season's NBA

James has entered an extensive slump lately after a bright start to the season that saw the three-time Olympic champion put up All-Star calibre performance earlier in the season.
The four-time MVP has scored below 20 points in five of his last six meetings and has gone 0-for 19 from 3-point range over his last four appearances. He hit an-all time low on December 2 where he mastered a season-low 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists and six turnovers in the 109-80 blowout loss to Minnesota Timberwolves.
After the match, Perkins reacted to James' statline on X.
"A car running perfectly can fall apart after it hits 100k miles. Age 40 might be his 100k," Perkins wrote. "I mean, at least that's why my grandfather told me when his Oldsmobile stopped running," Perkins posted.
