Jamaican sprinter Alana Reid remains secretive about her potential future training with Sha'Carri Richardson, focusing instead on rest and preparing for her next season while setting ambitious goals for Jamaican sprinting.

Jamaican youngster Alana Reid has remained mum about her chances of training with Sha’Carri Richardson next season as she revealed her ambitious targets.

Reid told her fans to wait and see how things would turn out and did not disclose much information about her chances of training with coach Dennis Mitchell at the All-Star Athletics Club next season.

The Jamaican sprinting ace joined Richardson and other American stars at the club early in 2023 following her relocation to Florida and has been impressive, making her Olympic debut in the women’s 4x100m relay and winning the 100m title at the World Under-20 Championships in Peru, Lima.

“I wish not to say at the moment, you guys will see. I mean, wherever I am, I’ll do my best, only my best is good enough,” Reid said in an interview with the media after being announced as the Burger King brand ambassador.

The 19-year-old added that she is currently resting and taking time off the track before resuming normal programming as she looks to take Jamaican sprinting back to the top.

She has yet to set specific times for her races next season but she believes in her training and knows that when she puts in the work, everything else will fall into place.

“I’ll go back to training and do what I have to do but as far as right now I’m being on rest and I’m just taking my time to relax and then when it’s time to go back to train I know that’s where my focus will be,” Reid said.

“I don’t put limits on myself so I can’t give my specific time but I know what I’m capable of doing so I just want to go out there and stay focused as usual and anything I believe I can achieve. I know that I’ve been out there and putting in the work so it’s just for me to see the results.”
