Former world 100m champion Yohan Blake is set to launch a major investment in Florida, USA as he begins to plan for life beyond track and field.

Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake seems to be preparing for life after athletics as he is set to officially open a restaurant.

Blake shared the news with his social media followers on Sunday, expressing his excitement at his new venture which is set to boost his coffers.

The restaurant is located in the picturesque Fort Lauderdale in Florida in the United States and promises unforgettable experience for dinners.

“After lots of hard work, I’m excited to announce that my restaurant, THE BUTCHER'S BARREL, is finally here! Join me for the grand opening on October 8th in Fort Lauderdale, Oakland Park. I can't wait to see you there,” Blake posted on social media.

Yohan Blake seems to be coming to the end of his career following his recent struggles on the track with injuries also slowing him down.

The 2011 world champion in 100m missed the Paris 2024 Olympics after a fifth-place finish in the preliminary round of the Jamaica Olympics trials, having previously said that it was going to be his final appearance at the games.

His athletics future is still not known with his last event this year being the London Diamond League on July 20 when she finished eighth.

Following his poor outing in London, Yohan Blake had an emotional meltdown when he accused his country for not giving him respect.

“My own country Jamaica doesn't give me the respect but I'm happy because other people outside do and appreciate me more than my own country,” he said during an interview with The Inside Lane.

“I'm happy that I'm able to be crowned elsewhere apart from Jamaica so I will continue to do what I'm doing until I'm happy to step away when it's time.”

Blake has two Olympics silver medals in 100m and 200m and as many gold in 4x100m relay but has been struggling to get back to his former glories.
