Wycliffe Kinyamal has revealed what he aims to achieve at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Commonwealth Games champion Wycliffe Kinyamal will be aiming for a podium finish at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after punching a ticket to the global stage at the Kenyan Olympic trials.
Kinyamal fought hard and finished second in the race won by youngster Emmanuel Wanyonyi. Wanyonyi clocked an astonishing 1:41.70, the fastest time in the world since David Rudisha’s retirement and the third fastest time in the world.
Kinyamal finished second, crossing the finish line in 1:42.50 as Koitatoi Kidali completed the podium, crossing the finish line in 1:42.66.

David Rudisha has explained whether Emmanuel Wanyonyi can shatter the 800m world record at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games just like he did at the 2012 London Olympics.
He was elated to have qualified for the games and revealed that he will be in the fight for a podium finish at the event.

“The game was good and I’m very happy with my performance…I feel so good to have made the Olympic team and so we are going there to fight for our country,” he said.
“I’m just going for any medal…I had prepared well for the trials so I came here and tried my best and finished in the podium bracket.”

Arop's dramatic finish edges Kinyamal in Wanda Diamond League opener
Marco Arop narrowly won the 800m at the Wanda Diamond League in Xiamen, edging out Wycliffe Kinyamal by 0.05 seconds.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old began his Olympic campaign at the African Games national trials but finished third to miss out on the event.
He then proceeded to the Diamond League Meeting in Xiamen, crossing the finish line in 1:43.66 before finishing second again at the meeting in Suzhou, where he clocked 1:44.88 to cross the finish line.
Kinyamal won the title at the National Police Championships before finishing second at the Diamond League Meeting in Rabat, crossing the finish line in 1:43.98.
The Kenyan star also competed in the 400m at the National Police Service Championships, finishing second in semifinal before winning the final of the event. He has been great shape this season, and he hopes to be in the right shape as the Olympic Games fast approach.
