Yohan Blake has shared his interest in venturing into acting after hanging his spikes at the Olympic Games.

The third fastest man in the world, Yohan Blake will be retiring from professional running after the Olympic Games in 2024.

The Jamaican plans to spend more time with his family but he has also shared his intentions to venture into acting.

Speaking to Real Talk with Tee, Blake noted that he has gained a lot from the sport and he believes it’s time for him to go relax.

“I want to spend more time with my family and I also want to enjoy life more. I want to go into acting and a little bit of commentary and all that,” Blake said.

He has not had the best of seasons this year and he acknowledged that rating it at a four out of 10. He explained that failing to run a sub-10 was very disappointing and he would have wanted to do better.

Blake added that missing out on the World Championships was also a huge setback for him but he will be hoping to bounce back.

In the 100m, he only managed one win out of all the races he competed in. He won the race at the Gyulai István Memorial, a Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix where he clocked 10.04 to cut the tape.

“It was crazy...I got a false start at the Jamaican trials and didn’t make the World Championships. I give thanks to God that I’m healthy and I’ve been consistent but not the way I want to.

This is my ninth race and it’s my ninth 10.0, I haven’t cracked the 10.0 barrier this season but I’m grateful.

However, I still know I have a fight in me and I just have to work on my priorities and refocus for my last Olympics coming up next year,” Blake said.
