World Athletics has revealed the approved qualification standards for the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
World Athletics has announced even more tougher qualifying standards for athletes who intend to compete at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan.
The qualification will combine entry standards and world rankings with the standards looking to qualify about 50% of the athletes. The qualifying window for the marathon and 35km race walk will run from November 5, 2024 until May 4, 2025.

World Athletics added that for the 10,000m, 20km race walk, combined events and relays, the qualification period will run from February 25, 2024 to August 24, 2025. For all other events, entry standards can be achieved from August 1, 2024 to August 24, 2025.
The women will be required to run 11.07 while the men must have run 10.00 in the 100m to make the World Championships team. For the 200m, the women and men must have run under 22.57 and 20.16 respectively.

The 400m will require athletes to run 44.85 for the men and 50.75 for the women with the 800m requiring 1:44.50 for the men and 1:59.00 for the women.
In the 1500m, the men will be required to clock under 3:33.30 while the women will be required to have run 4:01.50. The 5000m requires 14:50.00 for the women while the men will be required to have run 13:01.00.
The 10,000m will also require athletes to dig deep to attain the time, with the men having to clock 27:00:00 to qualify while the women will have to time 30:20:00. The marathon will require the men to run 2:06:30 with the women having to run 2:23:30.
