Were has revealed big plans as he prepares to make 2025 the year he gives Karsten Warholm, Rai Benjamin and Co a run for their money.

Commonwealth games bronze Medalist Wiseman Were has intensified training with anticipation of taking part in the 2025 Tokyo World Athletics Championships.

Were whose Olympics journey in Paris came to an end after he finished fifth in the third semi-final of the men’s 400m hurdles is looking to make a big comeback next year.

Were was making his debut in the competition, clocking 49.22 across the finish line.

The Kenyan sprinter is now gearing up for next year's World Athletics Championships, scheduled for September 13-21.

"Training isn't just times on the track, it's about pushing beyond limits and improving every day. It's all about preparation ,work, focus and the right mindset," shared Were on his Instagram account.

"The road to Tokyo is heating up, and I'm ready to give it my all," he assured.

The 400m hurdler sprinter has participated in several international events, including the World Championships in Budapest in 2023, the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022 where he secured a podium finish, and the Africa Athletics Championships in Mauritius in 2022.

Were's message comes on the back of Athletics Kenya unveiled the road map to the 2025 Tokyo World Athletics Championship.
