Her withdrawal from the event was confirmed by Bruce James, president of Jackson’s MVP Track Club. The president emphasised that they want to take a cautious approach to Jackson’s season debut this year.

“We want to make sure she was feeling at her best before she starts competing for 2024. We anticipated she should be competing very quickly,” James told Trackalerts.com.

James also explained that Jackson will be making her first appearance on the track this season in no time. He added that her training has been seamless and she is in great shape.

“She is training well, looking good, and we just want to make sure she is ready for her first race of the year,” James noted.

Meanwhile, Jackson enjoyed a great 2023 season, summing it up with double gold at the Prefontaine Classic, the Diamond League Meeting final held at the Hayward Field in Oregon, USA.

She had expressed her interest in shattering the 200m world record and this year, she might be on her way to actualise her dream.
