Olympic medalist Brittany Brown is holding on the new year celebrations and here is why.

Olympic bronze medalist Brittany Brown isn’t marking the New Year with the rest of the world just yet. For her, the real celebration begins in April, her birthday month, when she turns 30.

Despite her unconventional approach to ringing in 2025, Brown took to Instagram to reflect on the transformative year she’s had, a year filled with incredible milestones both on and off the track.

“In my opinion, the new year for me isn’t until my birthday, especially cuz I’ll be 30 next year,” she wrote.

“But we can’t wait all the way until April because this calendar year wheeeewww, so much has changed.”

And what a year it’s been. Brown secured her place as one of the world’s top sprinters with a stunning third-place finish in the women’s 200m final at the Paris Olympics.

Clocking in at 22.20 seconds, she earned her first Olympic medal, sharing the podium with silver medalist in the event Julien Alfred and fellow American Gabby Thomas who claimed gold.

But her triumphs didn’t end there. Brown concluded her track and field season with an impressive double-podium performance at the Athlos all-women’s meet, where she stunned fans by upsetting Gabby Thomas to win the 200m and taking second place in the 100m.

The meet marked another historic milestone as it celebrated women’s athletics on an unprecedented stage.

Off the track, Brown’s influence has continued to grow. She graced the pages of major magazines, using the platform to raise awareness about a disease that profoundly impacts her life.

Her alma mater honored her achievements with a parade, and she found herself in demand as a speaker at numerous events. Through it all, she credited her resilience and inspiration to moments of self-expression.

As she looks forward to turning 30, Brown expressed her gratitude for the year that was, wrting, “So many other countless memories I’ll wrap up next year for my 30th, but for now, thank you, 2024.”

With a year like this in the books, 2025 holds endless possibilities for Brown as she continues to shine on and off the track.
