American Quincy Hall has revealed why he has no targets for the upcoming Olympic Games after setting a new world lead in the 400m.
American 400m star Quincy Hall has explained why he has no specific targets for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which will commence at the end of this month and run through August.
Hall set another World Lead at the Monaco Diamond League on Friday with a time of 43.80 seconds. The 25-year-old, who won the USATF Olympic trials in the 400m category, crossed the finish line ahead of fellow American Vernon Norwood, who recorded a seasonal best of 44.34 seconds.

“After the American trials, I knew I needed to step up my game a little bit and that it would be enough to run this fast,” Hall said.
“I feel like I have a lot more in my tank. I just need to start strong and then I can finish strong as well. Going to Paris, I do not feel like I have a target on my back.”
Asked what setting the world lead meant to him, Hall opted to keep his cards very close to his chest.
“It does nothing. I am the same person that I was a couple of years ago and I am the same person I am now. I don’t let this moment get to me," he added.
