Paralympics champion Hunter Woodhall has exposed the brutal realities athletes like him have to cope with after his prosthetics was messed up following a long jump attempt.

Hunter Woodhall has given fans an inside look into the challenges of being a Paralympian.

Hunter displayed the harsh realities of using prosthetics limbs after doing long jump that left them in bad shape.

The Paralympics champion accompanied his wife Tara Davis-Woodhall, the Olympics champion in the sport, for some long jump rounds and what came out of it was not a good look.

Hunter posted a clip of himself taking off his prosthetics after the jumps and they were full of sand, exposing how brutal it can be for Paralympians when it comes to such field events.

“I just did standing long jump into the sandpit and it was after three jumps,” Hunter explained as she poured the sand out of the prosthetics.

“It’s not it yet, trust me,” he added, with his wife, the Olympics long jump champion, adding: “Oh gosh. I would say welcome to our life but that is like a little bit extreme.”

Hunter then explained that it is experiences like those that makes him dislike going to the beach.

“And you wonder why I don’t like the beach,” he said, having, accompanied the clip with a post that read: “Prosthetics and sand don’t mix well.”

It just goes on to show the extreme lengths Paralympians go to make it in sport and for Hunter it must be tough given his wife specializes in long jump.

He is now torn between watching from a distance as she does her stuff or joining in the fun and ending up with prosthetics full of sand, which must be difficult to take.

Luckily, Hunter can seek refuge on the track where he is a world beating sprinter that now has an Olympics gold in 400m T62 won at the Paris 2024 Games.
