Three-time World champion Christian Coleman has shared why he doesn’t like to talk much about breaking the 100m world record like his opponents including Noah Lyles and Fred Kerley.
Lyles, the triple World champion has been very vocal about going for Usain Bolt’s 100m and 200m world records and he has been surely putting in the work. Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has also been vocal about attacking Bolt’s 100m world record.
Bolt set the 100m and 200m world records at the 2017 World Championships with the 100m record being 9.58 seconds and the 200m record being 19.19 seconds.

Noah Lyles has reacted to his track rival's sentiments who is hoping to turn tables this season.

Speaking during an exclusive interview with Citius Mag, Coleman said: “I don’t like to talk too much. I'm not really into the antics. (Talking about it) isn’t going to change what's going to happen when we get there.
“If it’s not conducive to me propelling myself forward and staying focused and doing what I know I’m capable of doing, what's the point?
“So, I leave that to the other guys. But I think everyone has a healthy level of respect for everyone because of what it takes to get to the line, especially at a high level.”
Meanwhile, the American will be opening his season at the Millrose Games and he will be competing in the 60m.
This will mark his third time in a row and Coleman added that he had made it a culture to open his season at the event.
“I feel like this is the biggest regular season indoor meet in the U.S. It’s very intense and the fans really appreciate our talent coming up there in New York.

Noah Lyles has already set his target ahead of the World Indoor Championships as he looks forward to lock horns with Christian Coleman and Fred Kerley.
“It's a very intimate type of venue at the Armory, so I love that aspect of it. The fans are very knowledgeable about the sport.
"It's a little cold, but we get inside and it warms up and we try to put on a show. I feel even better than I did last year, so I'm excited to get out there and come out with a win and start the season really good,” he added.
