Derron Herah is an all-rounded man and has made Elaine the superstar she is today.
Elaine Thompson remains one of the greatest sprinters in the world currently after making a habit of delivering at the Olympics. The 32-year-old Jamaican boasts of five Olympic gold medals. Thompson burst onto the scene at the 2016 Rio Olympics where she bagged gold in 100m and 200m.
She picked up from where she left by defending her titles at the 2020 Tokyo edition but added the 4x100m relay title to her cabinet. She wasn’t the favourite to win the 100m race in Tokyo but the ace sprinter somehow managed to better her teammate and arch rival Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce to clinch gold in an Olympic record of 10.61 secs. However, Elaine has not been on this journey alone.

Daron Herah is not just a husband to the well known and celebrated sprinter Elaine, but also a climatic figure in her athletics career. While Elaine's extraordinary accomplishments on track have gained her transnational acclaim, it is important to shed a spotlight on the man behind the scenes.
His voyage as an ex-sprinter, and metamorphosis into coaching, has played a pivotal role in molding Elaine's storried career. Derron, an ex- professional Jamaican athlete and now a coach, has had great expeditions in the world of track and field. Born in 1982 in Jamaica, Derron's athletic camp started in 2001 and endured until 2008. He was a versatile runner, partaking in both the 400m and 400m hurdles domains
His academic background is amazing too. He attended Southwest Christian Junior College and later sought his studies at Texas Tech University, where he acquired a bachelor's degree in Administration Management. He advanced his schooling by learning finance at Davenport University.
He is associated with The Loan and Pawn Shop, operates the record company Herah Music Productions, and is involved with the entertainment industry through HMP Entertainment.
In November 2019, Herah tied the knot with Elaine. Following their wedding, Elaine adopted her husband's last name, now known as Elaine Thompson-Herah. She flooded her Instagram with pictures of the wedding and wrote a beautiful note for her husband.
“I have a best friend as a husband, and he is my number one supporter. He’s a family man, and he’s always giving back to God. That is what makes him a beautiful man. We’re not perfect by any means, but that makes us beautiful as well. We’re not afraid to say we’re not perfect. We have our disagreements, but that comes along with marriage,” she wrote.
