Justin Gatlin agrees with Usain Bolt on why 2024 Olympic 100m final was not as great as the 2012
Justin Gatlin has agreed with Usain Bolt on why the 2024 Olympic final which saw Noah Lyles narrowly edge out Kishane Thompson was not as great as the 2012 edition.
Ferdinand Omanyala made his world indoor debut at the 2022 edition in Serbia, where he got to the semifinal. He then returned in 2024, at the event held in Glasgow, Scotland, having massively improved.

“Don’t worry about that, I will let you know. I’ll decide…we haven’t planned anything yet so we’ll let guys know in due course,” Omanyala said.
“It’s been good because the preparation has been long, four months has been a good preparation, I’m ready, so we shall see.”
Ferdinand Omanyala opened his 2025 season at the second Athletics Kenya weekend meet at the Thika Stadium, competing in the 100m heats that he won easily.
Last season, the Kenyan sprinting star posted mixed results, missing out on the final of the 100m at the Paris Olympic Games but he had a reason to celebrate after ending his season as the second fastest man in the world.
He earned the honours following the 9.79 seconds that he clocked at the Kenyan Olympic trials. In 2025, the main focus is on the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan and just like any other athlete, Ferdinand Omanyala intends to go an impress.
