Athletics power couple Tara Davis Woodhall and her husband Hunter Woodhall have revealed the motivation they received from Lionel Messi which is fueling them to success.

Olympics long jump champion Tara Davis Woodhall and her Paralympics husband Hunter Woodhall believe they will break records in the coming season thanks to Lionel Messi.

The athletics power couple have revealed the motivating words they recently received from the Argentina football legend which they think will inspire them to success heading into 2025.

“Start early, stay late is a motto we took from the legend Messi,” Hunter said in a post on the couple’s Instagram page. “We are going to be breaking records all year,” he added.

The two, alongside Messi, are brand ambassadors for Stanley Brand, beverages company that produces various types of energy drinks, and look to have used their association with the footballer to good effect.

“GOAT mentality. Pushing for new records this season, inspired by the co-branded Messi x Stanley 1913 collection. #Stanley1913Partner Like Messi, start early, stay late. And stay hydrated,” they further posted, highlighting the power of the brand.

Breaking records is something the two are getting accustomed to after Hunter won his first Paralympics gold at the Paris 2024 Games, bringing home the 400m T62 title as well as bronze in the 4x100m mixed relay.

Meanwhile, his wife Tara won her first Olympics title in long jump in 7.10 meters, her best ever, and is motivated to go for further success at next year’s World Championships in Tokyo Japan.

The couple have become fan favourites since the Olympics where they were in the stands to support each other during the Games.
