Botswana sprinter Letsile Tebogo has responded to the impressive times posted by his track rivals such as Ferdinand Omanyala, Kishane Thompson and Noah Lyles in recent races.
Botswana sprinter Letsile Tebogo has responded to the fast times set by his track rivals in recent events as they gear up to the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Jamaican Kishane Thompson currently has the world’s fastest time in 100m of 9.77 set at the Olympics trials last week with Kenya’s Ferdinand Omanyala having the second fastest of 9.79 clocked at the Athletics Kenya Olympics trials last month.
Jamaican Oblique Seville has 9.82 while world champion Noah Lyles clocked 9.83 at the US trials.

Ferdinand Omanyala reveals how changing coaches has allowed him to go back to school
Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala has credited his coach Geoffrey Kimani for helping him continue with his studies after struggling to balance books and athletics before.
The fast times have got Tebogo talking and he feels it has elevated the level of competition as he and others will have to match up.
“They are running crazy times out there and we need to be somewhere in the mix,” Tebogo hilariously said.
The world 100m silver and 200m bronze medallist is among the sprinters set to light up the Paris Olympics after coming of age in 2023.
Tebogo will indeed need to be in the mix as he has not clocked a sub-10 in the 100m this season. He has run only two 100m races in 2024, the Los Angles Grand Prix in May (10.13) and the African Championships where he managed 10.29 in the semi-finals before leaving the event over its disorganisation.
In 200m, he has only run twice, managing 19.71 at the Kip Keino Classic in April, after clocking 19.94 at the ASA Grand Prix in South Africa.
Tebogo, however, took a break in May following the untimely death of his mother and only returned to competitive action at the African Championships.

Noah Lyles has honoured Letsile Tebogo as one of the greatest sprinters he has ever competed against.
He has some catching up to do in 200m where Lyles has clocked 19.53 while Kenny Bednarek has a season’s best of 19.59.
