World 2021 Under-20 1500m champion Vincent Keter has promised to do better next time after his 12th-place finish in the senior men’s race at the Cardiff Cross Challenge on Saturday.
Keter went into the race as a pre-race favourite but failed to live up to the billing as he faded to a disappointing finish in 29:52.

A hefty prize money has been set aside for the top 10 finishers at the Boston Half Marathon.
Reacting to his performance, the 21-year-old explained that he tried his best and promised to do better next time.
The race was won by Uganda’s Kenneth Kiprop who clocked 28:32 ahead of Kenya’s Vincent Mutai (28:35). Ethiopia’s Abele Alemu completed the podium after clocking 29:06.
“I did my best for the first race after the off-season. I am ready to work hard for more. Well done my friend Vincent Mutai for the podium place,” he said.

Keter shifted his focus to the cross-country after a mixed track campaign. The youngster started his season with an indoor tour where he competed in three races.
He opened his season at the Folksam GP Stockholm Indoor 2023 where he finished second before finishing seventh at the Meeting de l'Eure. Keter went on to finish ninth at the Meeting Metz Moselle Athlelor.
In his outdoor tour, he started with a third-place finish at the Kip Keino Classic and then went on to finish fifth at the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix.

21-year-old Catherine Reline has continued her dominant exploits to clinch the Chemasusu Dam Half Marathon.
He then finished second at the National Championships and unfortunately missed out on the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary after finishing 10th during the trials.
After the heartbreak, he proceeded to the Diamond League Meeting in Silesia where he finished sixth. He also competed in the one mile, where he finished fifth in the Monument Mile Classic in Great Britain.
