Australian teen star Gout Gout showed his remarkable talents once again when he obliterated the field to clock one of the fastest 100m times ever witnessed in the country.

Australian teen sensation Gout Gout has showcased his immense talents once again following another scorching run in Brisbane on Thursday.

The 16-year-old Brisbane youngster destroyed the field at the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships to win his heat in an incredible 10.04 in the 100m, with his closest challenger almost 10 metres behind.

Gout Gout has been compared to legendary Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt due to his remarkable ability to smash records at his young age with the eight-time Olympics champion admitting to having been surprised by his talents.

Born to South Sudanese immigrants, Gout Gout continues to defy his age and has previously recorded 10.20 in 100m and he believes he can dip under 10 seconds, a feat last achieved by an Australian in 2003, when Patrick Johnson ran 9.93 at a meet in Japan.

“We talk about it because to us it's a given (that he breaks 10 seconds),” Gout’s coach Di Sheppard, who discovered him when he was a seven-year-old student, told Daily Telegraph.

“When it happens it happens, and it could happen early....because everything's happening sooner than we expected.”

His latest feat comes a month after he ran the fastest 200m for an Australian since 1993, clocking 20.29 in the heats to obliterate the field at the Queensland All Schools Track and Field Championships and become the fourth-fastest Australian of all-time over the distance.

Gout Gout, who turns 17 this month, also became the fourth fastest athlete in the world aged under 18 in the 200m with Peter Norman, who ran 20.06 at the 1968 Mexico Olympics, the fastest Australian in 200m.

The teen sensation signed his first professional contract this year when he inked a deal with Adidas and from January 2025, he will be in Florida, in the United States to train with and learn from Olympics and world 100m champion Noah Lyles.

With Australia hosting the 2023 Olympics in his home city of Brisbane, there is an air of excitement that the youngster will be the poster boy for the Games as he will be 24 and potentially a major star at the time.
