USATF Awards: Tara Davis-Woodhall battles McLaughlin-Levrone and other top contenders for Most Dominant Performer honour

The nominees for the USATF Most Dominant Performer award is a highly contested one that features Tara Davis-Woodhall and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone.

Following an iconic 2024 season, Paris Olympic champions Tara Davis-Woodhall and Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone have been nominated for the USATF Most Dominant Performer award.

The USATF Awards is the highest honour given to the best American track and field athletes in a year and for the Most Dominant Performer category, it recognises the top stars who dominated their events with major titles and had an almost unbeaten run during the season.

McLaughlin-Levrone competed in three major events (200m, 400mH, and 400m) in the outdoor season and was undefeated, blazing to new lifetime bests and record-breaking performances.

The highlights of her performances include: Smashed her world 400mH record twice (50.65s and 50.37s), won Olympic gold medals in the 400mH and women's 4x400m, and clocked the fourth-fastest 400m time of 48.75s in the world this year.

Likewise, Davis-Woodhall also had an exceptional year unbeaten and added three major titles. The eccentric long jump queen became the World Indoor, Olympic, and Diamond League champion to end the season as one of the most outstanding athletes.

Also nominated is Discus queen Valarie Allman who became the first American woman to defend an Olympic title in the Discus throw event. She also maintained an undefeated season and added the Diamond League title to cap off her iconic year.

Finally on the list is Grant Holloway who became the Olympic 110mH champion, World Indoor 60mH champion and World Record holder, and the Diamond League champion.
