Competing in the men’s 100m, Kishane Thompson lost the race to Noah Lyles on the line but Jamaican fans remained adamant that the win was stolen. Both Thompson and Lyles finished in a time of 9.79 seconds but the latter was ahead in milliseconds.

In an interview with Sports Max TV, Mills requested Jamaican fans to stop alluding that the win was stolen. He explained that it had to do with some technicalities in the race that Thompson had yet to master.
“I did not have the same feeling for Thompson, I felt like he was the man to beat. But he learnt, he lost on the line because of the technicalities of how he leaned. And by the way, Noah Lyles did win. So people can stop saying that [he didn't win]. There was no stealing, he did win,” Mills said in an interview with Sports Max TV.
He added that if Oblique Seville was okay, he would have silenced Lyles for the third time this season. The triple world champion was beaten to second by Seville in the men’s 100 at the Racers Grand Prix.
The Jamaican youngster extended the winning streak to dominate the men’s 100m semifinal at the Olympic Games. In the final, Seville faded to finish eighth as Lyles won the race.
“I was confident that if Oblique Seville was 100% if he would have held out, Noah Lyles would not have beaten him,” Mills noted.
