Another School Record for Udodi Onwuzurike, making him the best sprinter in Stanford University history.

In his first collegiate indoor 200m race at the Bruce Lehane Scarlet and White Invite, Udodi Onwuzuruike sped to a brilliant Personal Best (PB) of 20.61s, shattering a 26-year-old School Record (SR) by 0.56s.

Udodi Onwuzurike holds the Stanford SR in the 60m, 100m and 200m

The Stanford University sophomore student has broken SRs nine times and currently holds four SRs in the indoor 60m and 200m, and outdoor 100m and 200m.

It means he is now the best sprinter in the school history and needs to back it up with many titles and medal-winning performances at National Championships.

Onwuzuruike is one of the most talented young sprinters in the world.

He was the 2021 World U20 Champion in the 200m, and the 200m African U20 Record holder with 20.08s before it was erased by Botswana's Letsile Tebogo.

Udodi won the 2021 World Junior Championships title ahead of Tebogo

His 100m PB of 10.03s in the current Nigerian U20 Record and has been one of the most consistent Nigerian sprinters since he made his international debut in 2021.

The 20-year-old is foreseen as a future Olympic and World medallist, and if he continues to improve at this pace, then it may become a reality.

Onwuzuruike's 20.61s is now the fastest by a Nigerian this year, surpassing Alaba Akintola's 20.63s recorded last weekend.
