Tobi Amusan and Ese Brume will lead a star-studded Nigerian cast scheduled to compete at the Adidas Atlanta City Games on Saturday, May 18th.

The Games is organised for Adidas professional athletes, allowing them to compete in an open space, not a stadium, thus bringing them close to fans.

With the meet set to have the best of Adidas stars, Nigerian athletes signed to the brand will also be present as they fine-tune preparations for the Paris Olympic Games.

Women's 100m Hurdles

Amusan paves the way in her trademark event, racing against former World Record holder Kendra Harrison, who will be making her season's debut in the event and will be aiming for a famous win against her fierce rival with the world-leading time of 12.40s clocked in Jamaica.

However, both record-breakers will have it tough against a formidable field that includes the Jamaican trio of Ackera Nugent, Yanique Thompson, and Demisha Rosewell, British champion Cindy Sember, and renowned heptathlete Anna Hall.

Women's 200m

Second on the Nigerian list is speed sensation Favour Ofili listed in the women's 150m event.

The 21-year-old with an excellent and consistent season so far by staying unbeaten will face a stiff test in British star Daryll Neita, who has back-to-back Diamond League wins in the 100m and 200m events - one which included defeating the world's fastest woman Sha'Carri Richardson.

USA's trio of Tamari Davis, Talitha Diggs, and Candace Hill will complete the line-up and are also capable of causing an upset.

Men's 100m

In a star-studded field that has Africa's fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala as the headliner, Udodi Onwuzurike will gun for an Olympic qualifying time and the possibility of upsetting the Kenyan.
