His relationship with the track at Stade Louis II is one of mutual respect and remarkable achievements.

Over the years he has consistently excelled here recording some of his fastest times.

After his recent second-place finish at the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco, he could not help but reflect on his evolution and the role this venue has played in his success.

"Very pleased to keep getting faster this season. My fastest career 1500m times come from this great track in Monaco: 3:28.28 in 2021, 3:28.41 in 2018, 3:28.45 in 2020, and 3:28.71 in 2024. I've raced here six times in total," Cheruiyot wrote, documenting his journey.

Cheruiyot's affinity for the Stade Louis II is not just about personal bests; it is where he feels his comeback spirit is most alive.

Despite facing several seasons marred by injuries, the Monaco track has witnessed his resilience and determination.

This year, the 28-year-old athlete has seen a more consistent and injury-free season, allowing him to focus on regaining his top form.

The track's design and atmosphere have been lauded by many athletes for its speed-enhancing qualities.

Stade Louis II is renowned for its nine towering arches and a history of hosting the Herculis Diamond League meeting every year since 2010.

Notably, it is where Genzebe Dibaba set a new 1500m world record in 2015, followed by other memorable performances by athletes like Beatrice Chepkoech and Sifan Hassan.

Cheruiyot's performances in Monaco are a testament to his growth and endurance.

Starting the season with a second-place finish in Doha, he then showed steady improvement, culminating in a significant qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics at the Kenyan Olympic trials in Nairobi.

His time of 3:35.90 at the trials was enough to secure his spot promising another shot at Olympic glory.

Looking ahead, Cheruiyot is focused on the Paris Olympic Games, where he aims to upgrade his 2020 Tokyo silver medal to gold.

His track record in Monaco coupled with his recent qualification positions him as a strong contender for the upcoming Olympic challenge.
