Ethiopian Tigist Ketema got over the line first as Ethipopia completed a podium swoop at the 50th edition of the BMW Berlin marathon on Sunday morning.
Ketema crossed the finish line in 2:16:42 to headline what was a good day for her country.
The dominant Ketema led majority of the race from start to finish as she obliterated her competition in Berlin.
Ketema opened up an early lead over the rest of the pack, pulling away from fellow Ethiopian Gebru, opening up a 12-second lead.
She continued to pull away from her compatriot, eventually running the race solo with just the pace setters beside her running against the time.
As the newly crowned Berlin Marathon champion approached Brandenburg Gate on the 40km mark, she was cheered on by the crowd as she charged to claim victory in what has been a great year for the athlete.
