American sprinter Gabby Thomas has hinted at revolutionizing track and field by joining Grand Slam Track’s groundbreaking inaugural season.

Multiple Olympic champion Gabby Thomas has announced her next thrilling career move joining the roster of Grand Slam Track racers for the professional track league’s inaugural season in 2025.

The three-time gold medalist from the Paris Olympics will bring her unparalleled talent and competitive fire to the new league, which promises to revolutionize the sport with its high-stakes format and global appeal.

Thomas, fresh off a history-making performance at the Paris Olympics, shared her enthusiasm for the opportunity.

“I am so excited to be joining Grand Slam Track, and partnering with Michael Johnson to give our sport the platform it deserves,” Thomas said.

“Coming off of the Olympics, I want to continue testing myself and competing at the highest level against the fastest women in the world. Grand Slam Track allows us that chance in 2025.”

For Thomas, joining Grand Slam Track is about more than just racing.

“Michael’s vision is incredibly exciting, and I can’t wait to give the millions of track fans around the world even more chances to watch us compete,” she said.

“I look forward to seeing all of our fans at the four Slams next year.”

Born in Atlanta but raised in Northampton, Massachusetts, Thomas has always stood out as a prodigious talent.

During her collegiate years at Harvard, she shattered records and earned an astounding 22 Conference titles.

The foundation laid in those early years propelled her to international stardom, with standout performances at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, and finally her crowning achievement in Paris: three gold medals, including a historic win in the 200m, making her the first American woman to claim the title since Allyson Felix in 2012.

Thomas’ decision to join the league aligns with her desire to expand her impact on and off the track.

Grand Slam Track, led by four-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson, will host four marquee events annually in Kingston, Miami, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles.

With Thomas now on the roster, fans can expect electrifying performances as she competes twice at each Slam weekend.

The Grand Slam Track Racing Committee has been selective in building its roster, and Thomas’ signing brings the tally of Racers to 38.

Alongside her are other stars, including Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Fred Kerley, Marileidy Paulino, and Matthew Hudson-Smith, promising a season packed with rivalries and drama.

Thomas has never shied away from a challenge, and her reasons for joining Grand Slam Track reflect her passion for pushing boundaries.

“I’ve always wanted to bring more visibility to track and field,” Thomas shared.

“This league is creating an opportunity not just for us as athletes but for the fans who love this sport as much as we do.”

Tickets for the 2025 season are already in high demand, with Thomas slated to headline events and cement her status as the queen of sprinting.
