Trevor Painter has detailed the similarities between Keely Hodgkinson and Georgia Bell.

Trevor Painter has disclosed similarities between Keely Hodgkinson and Georgia Bell as he has trained them for sometime now at the M11 Track Club.

Painter guided Keely Hodgkinson to an Olympic gold medal in the 800m at the Paris Games and he believes Georgia Bell also has the potential of dominating the 1500m.

In an interview with the Manchester Evening News, Painter explained that the duo is very aggressive and would always go for what seems impossible.

For instance, Georgia Bell just made a running comeback at the age of 31, after taking a break to pursue other interests in the US.

Bell was an impeccable junior athlete but once she moved to the US, injuries became the order of the day and she had to take it easy on herself since she was also pursuing her master’s degree.

“Georgia is very similar to Keeley in terms of their mindsets, they’re just ridiculous. On a different scale. Their expectations and belief in what they’re able to do are way more than I have in myself,” Trevor Painter said.

Georgia Bell claimed a bronze in the 1500m at the Olympic Games with Faith Kipyegon and Jessica Hull coming in first and second respectively.

Bell had been balancing her athletics career with a full-time job in cyber-security and was forced to quit since it became too much. Trevor Painter disclosed that, however, it would not be nice to have too much free time on her hands and she needs to find another thing to do.

“She’s lived a fast-paced life all her career. Her head is probably going to need to be filled with something, maybe another course. Something to take her mind away from the monotony of not doing anything between training,” Painter said.

“But if you can get up, have your breakfast, go to the track fresh, healthy, then the quality of the session is so much better than if you’ve been at work.”
