The Jamaican sprint great has expressed his disappointment with his spikes which seem to be adding more problems to his training as he prepares for a major track comeback.
Jamaican sprint legend Yohan Blake is busy in training as he tunes up for the 2025 track season looking to banish the memories of the last few years.
Blake’s last major event was the 2022 World Championship in Eugene, Oregon when he exited the 100m at the semi-finals and did not go past the first round in 200m, with injuries and poor form conspiring to hamper him.
His last competitive race was at the London Diamond League last July when he finished ninth in the 100m after which he went on emotional meltdown, accusing Jamaicans of not showing him respect.
However, while Blake seems to have healed from his past setbacks, he is not off the hook yet when it comes to training.

The cannopy at Kasarani Stadium is now nearly completed, while work has now started to lay the athletics tartan track.
“I don’t know why and there is something about it. I am going to do some treatment, I am a little bit scared of alcohol [treatment] so I have my Riviere water to cool it down,” he says as he goes ahead to pour some water from his purified water brand on the cut.
Blake gets his shoes from German sports apparel giants Puma who signed a deal with him in 2023.
The sprinter looks like he will need to tell his sponsors to get him new shoes given the pain his current ones are inflicting on him for a less stressful preparation for the 2025 season.
