Olympics 100m bronze medalist Fred Kerley has stocked up the fires once more after trashing one of Noah Lyles’ impressive records while welcoming a 1v1 showdown with him.

Olympics 100m bronze medalist Fred Kerley has fired another salvo at his nemesis Noah Lyles after joking that his 150m record is not legit.

Lyles has the second fastest 150m time of 14.41 seconds which is 0.6 seconds behind Jamaican legend Usain Bolt’s mark of 14.35 seconds, which is the world record, but Kerley is having none of it.

Despite Lyles’ time, recorded at the Atlanta City Games in May this year, being the American record, Kerley sought to downplay it during a recent interview with American sprint legend Justin Gatlin on his Ready Set Go podcast.

"They gave him that time, but anyways...you know what it is,” Kerley said while confirming that he would be ready for a one-on-one race in 150m with Lyles.

The former world champion then welcomed the showdown with Lyles as he feels he would end the debate despite having lost to him on a number of occasions.

"I feel like 1v1 is actually good for the sport. A lot of head busters talk big because they get lucky in one race,” he added.

"But if you had World Athletics actually organizing these 1v1s, you could look at the stats. I could show you how many times I beat you, and you could show how many times you beat me."

Kerley lost to Lyles in 100m at the Paris Olympics where the latter claimed gold while he won bronze but he has a 4-2 advantage over Lyles in 100m although the multiple world champion has beaten him in 200m in all the five occasions they have raced together.
