An official from Vastu Company Limited, the contractor given the mandate to build a new house for the family of departed marathon great Kelvin Kiptum has opened up on how they plan to execute the task in seven days.
Last week on Friday, H.E. President William Ruto ordered experts to build a new house for the family of departed marathon great Kelvin Kiptum.
Many thought it would be impossible to work on the house within seven days but the contractor of the house will use the latest technology to ensure all is set before the legendary marathoner is laid to rest.

Two of Henry Rono’s former colleagues the Washington State University have advocated for a statue of the fallen legendary Kenyan athlete to be erected in the campus.
The construction began on Friday and everything is expected to be done by Thursday, February 26. The deadline, however, is not a bother to the contractor, Vastu Company Limited, since they are confident that everything will unfold perfectly.
According to reports, the contractor decided to implement a little-known yet highly effective technology known in engineering circles as precast, or prefabricated houses.
A precast house originates from countries such as Sweden, Denmark, and Norway and it is a technology that allows constructors to fabricate concrete components off-site. The technology has gained a lot of traction worldwide since it is affordable and time-effective.
While constructing the house, the contractor sets up a shell structure that includes a precast suspended foundation, precast walls, and a butterfly mabati roof. In the case of the Kiptum’s house, the contractor disclosed that the skeleton and roofing had already been completed by Sunday.
Plumbing, as well as boarding of the exterior and interior, including the use of cement boards and gypsum lighting then followed during the construction process.
"We have all the materials expected to be used inside the house including the tiles and by Thursday afternoon we shall be able to hand over the project," an official from Vastu Company Limited said.
