Wanyonyi, just at 19, has managed to make a name for himself and has ruled the track with his dominant exploits that saw him reign supreme in the Diamond League Meetings.

World 800m silver medallist Emmanuel Wanyonyi will be walking to the bank with a wide smile on his face owing to the millions he has made in the 2023 season.

Wanyonyi, just at 19, has managed to make a name for himself and has ruled the track with his dominant exploits that saw him reign supreme in the Diamond League Meetings and also extended the hot streak to the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

The Kenyan opened his Diamond League campaign at the Meeting in Rabat, Morocco where he won the men’s 800m race. Owing to his win, he walked away with Ksh 1,473,500.

The youngster then proceeded to the Meeting in Paris, France where he also dominated with a win to earn Ksh 1,473,500. After the Meeting in Paris, he went for the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco where he faded to finish eighth, earning Ksh 73,675.

Wanyonyi then competed at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, where he finished second to walk away with Ksh 5,005,000.

After the Budapest showpiece, Wanyonyi was ready to conquer as he proceeded to the Meeting in Xiamen, China where he won the 800m, beating reigning World champion Marco Arop to second place. With his win, Wanyonyi was awarded Ksh 1,473,500.

He then competed at the Prefontaine Classic, the Diamond League Meeting final where he also won the race dominantly, bagging Ksh 4,419,000. From the whole Diamond League circuit, Wanyonyi bagged Ksh 8,913,175.
