Letsile Tebogo and men's 4x400m relay team will forever remember the 2024 Paris Olympic Games following the dozens of gifts they have been showered with for winning medals in the French capital.

Letsile Tebogo and the Botswanan 4x400m men’s relay team will live to remember 2024 after being showered with gifts following their impressive show at the Paris Olympic Games.

Tebogo became the first African, on top of being the first Botswanan to win an Olympic gold medal in the men’s 200m. He clocked an African record time of 19.46 to cross the finish line ahead of Kenny Bednarek and Noah Lyles who clocked 19.62 and 19.70 to cross the finish line respectively.

The world 100m silver medallist was done yet as he anchored the 4x400m relay team to a silver medal as Team USA claimed the win in an Olympic record time.

Following Tebogo’s victory, President Mokgweetsi Masisi granted the people a half-day national holiday. After the team won the silver medal, another holiday was granted to the people of Botswana.

Upon arrival, more than 30,000 fans packed the National Stadium in Gaborone to celebrate Tebogo, who had won the country's first-ever Olympic gold medal. The relay runners were also honoured.

Gifts have been pouring in after their explosive show and according to Africa Facts Zone, Tebogo is now a homeowner after he was gifted two houses worth $300,000, more than Ksh 38 million.

Choppies, a leading supermarket chain in Botswana gifted Team Botswana $183,721 with Tebogo, the gold medallist, receiving $112,482. The relay team competitors will each get $11,248 and the coaching staff will receive $18,747.

Debswana, DTCB and Debeers gifted Team Botswana $80,987 and each athlete and coaching staff will receive $4,500. Orange gave them $52,491 while the Botswana Defense Force gave them $43,118.

Botswana’s Ministry of Youth and Sports gave the medallists $149,976. Tebogo, the world 200m bronze medallist, received $3,749 from Kwa Nokeng Oil, a tractor and $8,998 from Park 27.

Minister Eric Molale gave them 23 Pregnant cattle while President Masisi, Vice President Tsogwane and MPS donated $1,874, $800 and $4,724 respectively.
