Magdalyne Masai celebrated her personal best and second-place finish at the Frankfurt Marathon, reflecting on years of hard work and a strong season of podium finishes.
Magdalyne Masai is still soaking in her Mainova Frankfurt Marathon second place finish where she was also able to achieve her personal best time.
Magdalyne Masai, going into the race as an underdog, had trained hard for the race and her sacrifice and commitment were showcased when she braved through the tough conditions to achieve a podium finish in the deep field.
She managed to clock 2:18:58 behind 25-year-old Ethiopian runner Hawi Feysa who defied all odds to set a new course record time of 2:17:25. Hawi Feysa’s last marathon race was the Abu Dhabi Marathon last season where she claimed second place behind former world marathon record holder Brigid Kosgei.

Olympic bronze medalist Georgia Bell, reflecting on her all-out performance in the 1500m final at the Paris Olympics, expressed pride in leaving everything on the track and achieving an unforgettable podium finish.
Reacting to her performance, Masai expressed excitement to have finally achieved her time target after years of putting in the work and noted that she was still yet to process her performance.
“I know this is real but it still feels like I’m dreaming, I’ve been dreaming & working so hard to achieve this for so long I’m just so happy right now. I really just ran 2.18.58 @frankfurtmarathon for🥈,” she shared in a post on her Instagram handle.
This season, Magdalyne Masai has been on fire, achieving podium brackets in all the three marathons she has competed in. She opened her season with a second-place finish at the Zurich Maratón de Sevilla where she clocked 2:22:51 to cross the finish line.
Masai continued her winning streak to the Lanzhou Marathon where she claimed the win in a stunning 2:24:46 before her exploits in Frankfurt. She made her Frankfurt Marathon debut last season but could not impress after she faded to a seventh-place finish in 2:27:19.
Magdalyne Masai hopes to build up on her exciting run in Frankfurt to continue dominating in other marathons and improving her time.
