Masai Russell is enjoying her off-season adding a little bit of thrill and suspense to her sprinting with Hulu's Halloween special.

Olympic champion Masai Russell has stepped off the track and into the Halloween spirit, joining a Hulu special that reimagines the zombie apocalypse and tests the athletic prowess of its participants.

As Halloween approaches, Hulu challenged New York City runners to outrun some of horror’s most iconic villains, all for the answer to one pressing question.

“If you were in a horror movie, could you outrun the villain?”

This unique event brought the pulse-pounding atmosphere of a horror movie to life as participants faced off against Twisty the Clown from American Horror Story, the terrifying Nun from The Nun II, and the creepy Ghost from The Grudge.

The twist however is that each of these chilling villains was portrayed by a professional athlete, blending physical prowess with a bone-chilling ambiance to keep participants on their toes.

Alongside Russell, Matt James, known from The Bachelor and his marathon-running background and professional football player Emily Sonnett took on villainous roles, each one dressed in full costume and ready to chase the runners.

The Hulu special takes viewers through the runners' experience as they encounter their fears head-on.

Russell can be seen in the teaser trailer chasing down participants in a full blood chilling costume, catching up to the competitors easily.

'I could not run away from her. She's an Olympic gold medalist," expressed one of the participants who was chased down by Russell.

From pre-race jitters to post-race reflections, comedian Kareem Rahma was on the sidelines, capturing their emotions and adding a lighthearted edge to the intense atmosphere.

The result was a unique and thrilling test of survival-skills and speed and an off-season shenanigan that highlighted Masai Russell’s competitive spirit in an entirely new light.
